Three New Tables In The Card Bay
The card bay has been due an expansion for a while, and this month we finally got round to it. Three new tables went in alongside the existing games, each one leaning on a different bit of card logic rather than repeating what was already there.
One deals a single card to each side and lets the higher one take the round — quick, almost too quick, but that's rather the appeal on a short break. Another sets two cards down first and asks you to call whether a third lands somewhere between them, which takes a bit more nerve than it looks.
The third is closer to a proper hand of cards, three dealt to you and a decision to make about whether to play on or step back. It's the slowest of the three new tables and probably the one that rewards paying attention most.
Fitting three new consoles into the card bay without it feeling cramped took some rearranging. We ended up shifting the older dice tables closer to the porthole wall, which if anything improved the view from over there.
Early reaction from the crew has been good, though it's a small crew so that's not saying a huge amount. Come and try them when you've got a spare few minutes between shifts.
